Growing up??

In America when we are teenager were are told to be responsible but yet were not allowed to in many ways. They're are so many age restrictions. We are allowed to serve our country at 18 and die but not have a drink with our buddies until 21? Something does not make sense there. We are told we have to grow up get a job etc. But there's a limit to how much we can work. We are told to be responsible but not given responsibilites. There are so many laws restricting us trying to not let us be adults. We have curfew laws, drinking laws, driving laws, and working laws. It is not fair. I think something needs to be changed in our society.

at 18 people are still living with there parents and are in high school. Being able to drink could just corrupt the younger kids and get them to drink also at an even earlier age. Imagine and 8th grader or a freshman drinking and not a lot of people wouldn't think of it as being bad. The brain is still developing rapidly at that age and could be harmful

I agree that it is all crazy with how 18 year olds are looked at. There is no distinct category to put us in. But.. if the drinking age was lowered now, so many people would just take advantage of it and nothing positive would come out of this change. It is too late. Plus, if 18 year olds could buy alcohol it was be so much easier for kids in highschool to drink, and drinking would end up starting at younger ages.
